Both your posts are right! I had a teenage boy taken in by a widow for exactly the same reason---chores. She was always calling me to complain until I exploded and told her he wasn't put there to make her life easier. And she said then take him back. It was awful. He'd been there years. (Maybe that's why I try so hard not to upset people or antagonize them now--other people can get hurt in the crossfire.) And yes-people want new perfect babies. THere has GOT to be some solution for this...what what what. I have had successes! A wonderful woman took in two sisters. One went back to the bio mom. The other, though, loved the opportunities, was adopted, graduated from college and is now a teacher.
