Fan--The octane level of the final blended gasolines will be exactly the same as current gasolines. The engine doesn't know that one component has an extremely high octane.

Responce> To low of octane is worse for an engine. That is what causes it to knock, therefore causing premature engine damage. Also low octane does not allow the gas to fully burn off, causing pollution. So why is there a need for DF-144? Hmmmmm, maybe Exxon knows....
