Dell is still selling non-PentiumII systems in their Optiplex line.
Optiplex currently sells about 80% PentiumII's with the remainder
being regular old Pentiums (which Intel still makes... cheaply).

The Dimension Line has transitioned over 100% to PentiumII's however.
You probably read the article that talked in detail about this and
mistakenly thought it applied to every-line-of-business...
PAY ATTENTION!

Anyway Optiplex desktop electronics are designed by Dell for corporate customers. Dimension desktop electronics are designed by Intel and serve Dell's high end consumer segment. The ratio of Optiplex to Dimension systems sold is about 3 to 1.
