What would a five foot four mexicano-Canadian with a mouse in one hand and a bottle of beer in the other say to a US congressman?

Other than "Smarten up, idiot, my countries have you surrounded"

Re the 'poor Mexican people' - it's their own damn fault in large measure, imho - they have accepted the status quo for too long, and when a few individuals do gain a little power they turn into rats themselves. There are exceptions, but not enough yet. Participatory democracy is an ongoing process, it requires continual effort to climb up the walls of slime. You stop scratching higher, you slide back.

So if I had a congressman, I'd likely call him. I don't know the merits of this individual case, though, so would have to study it well first. If this IMF money is intended to prop up Suharto's family wealth machine, I would be agin it for sure. There must be some IMF deals that do work, though.

Your other idea, to buy physical gold, is something I keep meaning to get around to doing, and imho this is the time to do it. ......... cheers ........ marcos
