Holly, again you miss several points. I said that I had no inclination to do research at YOUR suggestion to prove my own posts wrong. I myself found nothing wrong with them after several rereadings, and after specifically asking you to simply state your own objection clearly, you only acted mysterious and failed to do so. I am still waiting, as I said this afternoon!! I can tell you that the general standard at SI is that if someone says something and another person disagrees, that second person would be expected to provide some concrete information showing why the first poster is incorrect, or ask the poster to kindly cite a source for a SPECIFIC statement in question, not simply order the original poster to reread their posts and then go do some research in "the archives' as you put it, to disprove their own statements. I think you have something backwards. I actually do research my posts, the ones that are dead serious. While certainly anyone can make mistakes, or fail to have a total grasp of all sides of every issue, you seemed more intent on going out of your way to criticize me than to make any particular point of your own. It is really easy to obscure a discussion about social problems and children murdering children with guns by bringing up knives, but it is really not applicable to the issue at hand, and after my asking you repeatedly, you could cite absolutely no instance of a group of children at a school being murdered by another child with a knife. So really, I consider your repeated comments about me "spouting off" to be inaccurate and hostile. You seem to be quite fascinated by trivia. Perhaps you should find some others who share your fascination, instead of trying to trip up people who are simply minding their own business, happily talking away to friends and acquaintances about the issues of the day. Incidentally, I am aware already of everything you posted about Caryl Chessman, but it is knowledge which is beside the point in the sense of the post I wrote to Bill, which included a very casual comment about the CURRENT debate on the death penalty as pertains to Al Checchi's views. But I am sure there will be people who want to discuss things like Caryl Chessman and how many women have been executed in California with you, somewhere at SI!!
