>Historians may well say that this is the very week that Microsoft reached its high water mark in terms of amazing growth, though it will continue to grow.

There seems to be handwriting on the wall. My guess guess is that 2 years from now a bigger & better Microsoft will be selling at a hefty 30 times earnings, and rewarding shareholders with a healthy steady return.

History was made this week, and you and I were there.

Good Night.

Ahhh..tell me another bed-time story, Hal, please? *giggle*

My guess is that next year at this time the good ship MSFT will be chugging along at a bluest of the blue PE of 50-55. That's what the Cokes of this world are fetching nowdays, because there are few Cokes and Microsofts.

Aman, your funny theory, ------> GROWTH IS A CRIME.

Luckly , you are not the master in the white house, otherwise USA will be
back to communism, which has been abandoned by China, and Russia.

So you think that the suit means MSFT has reached some growth limit?

Well perhaps you didn't catch the Motorola/Teledesic deal this week. Guess who owns a piece of Teledesic and guess what the product is: a low level satellite system that will provide digital access to voice and data. That is a replacement for ISP's and the Bells worldwide.

Its not that Gates doesn't have a plan it's just that everyone else looks so stupid. (like everytime I see another CEO sucking up to him, I say could anybody that dumb really run a major corporation.)

Hal,

Is that 30x earnings that msft will sell for include the deferred revenue account? As I'm sure you are aware, msft has deferred about .50 per share in e in the past year, giving them e of about 2.26 for this fiscal year, a year of no big rollouts. This next year we have 2 huge rollouts. Actual trailing e of around 3.00 this time next year, including the deferred account,(you do realize the street is adding the deferred account in, causing the pe to appear inflated, don't you?), is no big stretch. The following year, e of about 4.00 should be about right. 4x 30 is 120. Do you think msft will be at about 120 in 2 years? That would seem to make it a reasonable value now, so what do you think?
