Agrred. I've been accumulating a pile of puts lately, though in a regular account. Sort of a 90/10. I don't know that I put as much effort in finding a place for a few puts as I do in finding a stock to go long, especially in these tulip trading times. Here's what I think I know to be some good put issues. Needless to say, chances are I'll eat many of them, but they looked good at the time<g>. Buy lots of time, leaps if possible: CVC. One of the ugliest balance sheets in history. They only have "earnings" when they sell an asset. They have some cash flow but to analyze the stock without considering the servicing of a $5b illion debt is absurd. KR Kroger the grocery chain, trading at twice the price of a year ago. If all goes gangbusters for the next several years they will achieve worthlessness. In the meantime, one mis-step and their debt can kill them. And why do they have to offer triple coupons to generate traffic? CD Cendant was bery bery good to me last month. Maybe they can do it again. BKS There's a big pile of books in the other room by my easy chair that I could be catching up on instead of this thread. Most of then came from Amazon, the rest from B&N and Border's remainder tables, a profitable business for them that will slow as publishers are coming out with less titles. Besides, those assholes insisted on charging me a sales tax last time I bought a Barron's there <no g> MSFT. There's a lot of air there. Someday.... KO,G. Everyone loves this little darling, especially the three little pigs in last week's Barron's. The last time a group of telecom touts agreed on anything there, it was to avoid AT&T. It was at 31 then and promptly went to 50+. IBM, GTW, CPQ. We all know why. The only question is when. All FWIW.
