Geoff, with all due respect, because I agree with the points you made about taxes, commissions etc. The major point that Jim and I have been making is that TA doesn't work. Someone posted something to me on this thread two weeks ago purporting to show how well TA works. It was a one year chart of Dell with roughly 25 trades (I'm operating on memory here, so the numbers aren't exact) showing roughly a 109% profit during that period. But I calculated the profit using a buy and hold strategy over the identical period of of 280%. I think that this is the effect Jim and I want to illustrate. I would hope that any person accepting the challenge -- a person who honestly believed in TA -- would not stoop so low as to avoid the real issue by using subterfuge to win. TTFN, CTC
