If your portfolio is anything like my fathers you are in for a real treat. Check out if you have holdings in:
ATT
Ameritech
Bell South
Lucent
Bell Atlantic
SBC

Good hunting. Hope you make a fortune out of this. When I look at what my dad did with his shares after splits (can't help you) he is over 700% in most cases. It is amazing what time can do.

Save your library time and call AT&T stockholder/investor support group - they even have an 800 number but I don't have it here in my office. If it's as old as you say and never actually got surrendered, you still could have shares in all of the Baby Bells (as I recall, you had the option to take shares in the Bells, but if you didn't specify, you stayed with "just" AT&T). Good luck.
