Karl,

There has always been gold in the desert. During the depression many people mined gold by dry panning and wet panning. A couple of bucks a day was better than nothing. No claims were filed, no government permitting regulations, just find a likely spot and go for it. Some platinum has been recovered from copper concentrates. Copper sulfide ores use flotation. The copper sulfide is smelted to produce blister copper. This copper is refined using electrolosis. The sludge contains gold, silver, telluride, platinum and sometimes other metals.
In the head ore the pgm would be measured in small parts per billion.

However, I am not ready to believe that every valley in southern AZ is filled with commercial grades of gold and platinum and that is what some posting on these threads would have us believe. I will believe as soon as A. someone starts commercial production B. someone can explain the mineralization and where it came from.

In the meantime, I have contacted the AZ corporation commission regarding the owners/investors of Galleon. When they answer me, I will post.
