Speaking of true baseball stories ...

We took our two sons to a NY Mets game. The younger one was only 7 at the time. He had a friend at school named "Ronnie Gomez". Since there were two "Ronnies" in his class, they called my son's friend "Gomez" to alleviate confusion.

At a point in the game where the Mets had the bases loaded, the crowd started up the chant "Let's Go Mets!".

My son said ... "Hey! That's my friend!" (Go Mez)

Tom, careful. If Bernie Carbo finds out you used his name for a laugh he might sue you (gg).

[Editor's note: Bernie Carbo recently sued MCI for using a clip of him hitting his dramatic home run in the '75 series. OK, we admit it; when you have to explain a joke it's no longer funny. So sue us.]
