[Intel SE440BX Pentium II Motherboard.]

This is the first Intel mainboard review that I have seen. Three DIMM slots does not seem to be a disadvantage as you can still populate with 356 MB RAM although you have fewer choices. The board has one less ISA slot than many of its competitors. This could be a disadvantage depending on the number of cards one has/needs. The board with the onboard audio would compensate for the lack of an ISA slot, $204.69 at ESC Technologies esc-tech.com

My impression is this is a quality board. Intel does not direct their efforts towards the overclockers. With todays relatively fast CPU's overclocking seems to be a wasted effort IMHO.

Return rate is significant to me. Anand rates it with Aopen. Does anyone know where these stats are available on the Internet?

The board's construction quality is beyond just a synonym for sturdy, the Intel engineers definitely took pride in their production, which is part of the reason that major companies such as Dell and Gateway use Intel's SE440BX in their computers. The return rate on Intel's BX board is extremely low, and is among the top for success rates neighboring AOpen among others.
