Bubba, From what you said, I agree. I like looking for volume spikes that proceed the price spikes. Get in, Get out and move on.

I am sure I could run a scan for volume spikes and one day price spikes.
Something else to think about it, on stocks over $5, is to short sell them after they spike up in price. Ride the retracment down.

You are right. The key is to find a company that will justify the spike. It takes a lot of work to find them.
