Patrick,
Wish 'mom' could help us forecast the market!;)
I agree and take everything with a grain of salt.Ironically, you mentioned "external events"....I always track them and have often mentioned to Bill H. about my "psych" indicators. When I look at a stock I always look at the technicals first...but I break the rules and look at the fundementals too.The times that I got hurt were when I let my "reasoning" rule.Barron's made a valid point when it mentioned this market was in the hands of the "public".Back in Oct. I mentioned on one of the threads that when I checked with a Quick & Riley manager, clients did not sell and came back in buying. He checked with other managers around the country and they all saw the same thing. When I listen to the baby-boomers the attitude is the same..."I'm in for the long haul" or "where else can money go"....These are upper management/owners types!IMHO Last Oct just reinforced their beliefs.I can no longer imagine what in the world will cause a sell off much less a bear market. Personally,I have slowed my trading from my own "burn-out" these days.I want lots of energy for the summer months!
Enough ramblings...Have a great holiday!
Regards,
Barbara
