I have been using an Excel homemade spread sheet, but I like the Turbo Tax recommendation.<<< I've never really thought about entering securities transactions into Turbo Tax directly...maybe it has something to do with the aversion to putting taxes together and wanting to use that particular software only when necessary! <grimace> I don't know how entering the trades into Turbo Tax would work, since it's not out yet for 1998 and as you need to keep records as you go along you'd have to transfer everything...Maybe there's a way to do so, but I confess that I haven't really paid attention. I hope someone else has better info for you!

Turbo Tax and Quicken Both made by the same company. TurboTax for '98 is not out yet. It is probably best to just type the data once in Quicken, then import the file directly into TurboTax DELUXE next year. The old fashioned way of writting my trades on a paper and typing them into TurboTax wasn't all that bad. Last year I made around 500 trades and it took about 10 hrs to do ALL my taxes. With the software, it was a breeze. Would have been much easier, though had I just used Quicken. Alot of CPA's, so I've heard, also use Software to complete clients taxes. TURBOTAX DELUXE is awesome. There is an SI thread regarding Tax laws for Daytraders. Colin Cody is very great. exchange2000.com S.W.
