Registered RAM

Will have to do some research on this when I get some time (will be awhile). This could be an Intel certification requirement and/or a new Intel spec. Do notice the gold plate requirement.

> Registered Ram<

Notice esc-tech.com.
uses the term registered DIMM not registered RAM when they use the term registered in "supports up to 512 MB unbuffered DIMMs or 1 GB registered DIMMs". Registered DIMMs means the memory chips have a built in register and the register is used to buffer the data stored in a memory location from the memory bus. SDRAM have a built in register and when they are assembled into a DIMM create a registered DIMM. Fast page mode RAM does not have a built in register and can not be used to build registered DIMM. In other words registered is not use in the same sense as when you are asked to register your software but it refers to the same type of device as the registers in a CPU do.
