RE: BIG DOG posting on Big Dog Turf. Ahh, that clears up the mystery! I was wondering why I got not one, but two, responses to my post about the allegedly interloping canine. But wait -- there's more mystery to come! According to BIG DOG's profile, his company is BIG DOG HOLDINGS, and and his position there is "Head Dog." Now, there is an SI thread, founded in Oct. 1997, on BIG DOG HOLDINGS (BDOG): Message 2459336 There were just two postings on that thread, in November, the second one describing, in rather gruesome detail, BDOG's price plunge shortly after its IPO. (It hasn't recovered, but there is one analyst following it, who gives it a "moderate buy" rating.) Anyway, after those first two posts, the thread expired. Or rather, seemed to have expired. Because on May 22 and May 23 (today!), it was revived by two posters: BIG DOG and bdog. BIG DOG and bdog have exchanged four brief & cryptic barks. What is the connection between BIG DOG, BDOG, and bdog? The plot thickens! And -- if BIG DOG is really Head Dog of BIG DOG HOLDINGS (BDOG), then....(check out that URL!)...his name is really Fred, not mike (the name in his e-mail address)!! Ta-Da! Tune in tomorrow. jbe
