What the DOJ is going to find out is that it's not against the law to make spirited competitive statements, particularly during sales meetings.

Right. Here's the thing: everyone knows that ONE of the motivations for Microsoft to include internet functionality in the OS is to improve its competitive position wrt Netscape. It's no secret, and the doj has a bushel full of internal Microsoft emails which refer to this.

But of course, another reason why Microsoft included internet functionality is to improve the product. And this is where the doj will lose its case. Whatever anti-competitive aspects of the integration the doj may bring up is beside the point - Microsoft has an absolute right under the law to make the best product they can.
