Christine, <<Curiously, the religious right, and particularly Dr. James Dobson, are making a strong play for control of the Republican party. If they are successful I believe the Democrats will stay in power in most states, because most Americans who are not members of the religious right are afraid of them.>> Your worry that the religious right will take over the republican party (and america?) is very interesting, especially in view of the fact that it is so unlikely that will ever happen. One reason is when the christians leave the republican party (because they will never take it over, it's not possible) the republican party will collapse and end up moving farther to the left politically to get votes. The christians will be disenfranchised and isolated politically. The interesting thing is that the anti-christian propaganda in the media has you believing christians are a threat and therefore make you willing to accept the persecution of the christians as a group. The same thing happened to the Jews in the past. Through clever propaganda the general public was made to feel that the Jews were a threat to them financially and politically. The "conditioning" make it possible for the holocaust because the public did not revolt when the murdering began. Actually it was a gradual escalation of persecution. First it was spoken on radio and written in papers, then attacking Jews and destroying (and stealing) there property. Then wearing arm bands! Did the populace say that's too far? NO. They had bought the propaganda. Then rounding them up for "relocation", and all their assets seized (stolen by the state). Objections? Nada! They just pretended they didn't know when the knowledge of the camps became widely known. But too late then even if they wanted to do anything, which by then they probably didn't. After all they were not doing the murdering themselves. Were they responsible? Christians are being built up to be some societal problem today, it's propaganda. The more we fight for our rights to be equal with atheists and the immoral the more we are seen as threats. Especially if we bring the conviction of the Holy Spirit for sin. Nobody wants to hear that homosexuality, adultery, fornication and any other of your favorite sins are wrong. Go along with the propaganda. You have a reason. Christians are always saying this or that is wrong and that makes you "uncomfortable". So really if they were "relocated" we wouldn't have to listen to them and they would stop messing up the "new age of man." Bob
