MikeM, Many thanks for the article. It was actually posted in its entirety by Worswick before and is a fascinating and insightful story. Kristof's reportage is first rate. On another subject, chances are increasing that we will flip from an El Nino drought to the La Nina rainstorms. biz.yahoo.com Recently I reported that in my neighborhood we were confined to water for 12 hours during every 48. They have just changed that to 3 days on/ 1 day off. Recent rains have raised the reservoirs and much needed repairs to pipelines and pump stations have been performed. Now if we could just get real policy change here we may be able to get started on a recovery process. Best, Stitch
