Morning Rudy,..Re:<< but to get leverage from their brand and reputation it probably needs to be a technology business, and one that has a 'hard' product (as opposed to services or software)>>

Rudedog,
Hi!!! Interesting concept...If Dell thinks it would work then it will...the trust many have placed in this team is something one usually doesn't like to commit to....personally, I find it extremely hard not allowing my convictions to be supported with my investment...the experience of this thread has given me the confidence to do just that..time after time we have basically followed what Michael and management have forecast...the picture IMO is only clearer for the future...the skeptics for whatever reason portray the industry with negative tones and scare tactics...Confidence is what allows one to ride this train...Dell has never given us the wrong direction of their strategy or potential growth...if there are new opportunities for growth I believe Dell is seeking them out...Michael has said.... we have opportunities that are very numerous and will seek out those that are the most profitable for the shareholders of this company....trust is the number one value......IMO Dell has underestimated their future potential.

Best, kemble
