According to my son:

If Jetform must comply with SOP 97-2, a significant amount of time will have to be spent figuring out how much income is to be reported and when. Not only will their accounting costs be increased, but this will spread out their "reported income" on financial statements over a longer period of time.

The goal of most companies tend to be to report as much income as quickly as possible on their financial statements. SOP 97-2 will force Jetform to report lower income this year. As a result, a slight dip in the stock's price could occur even though fundamentally nothing has changed thus creating a buying opportunity.
