Yes that is correct, it is done by systematic drilling and or trenching.

sometimes they drill as close as 50 feet apart in a continous pattern.
If all looks good they might do something called "step out" move the drill far to one side to see if there is still good results.

That is why I am showing a little caution, cause I am used to a lot more sampling than 2900 samples.

But have to see what the assay will bring and if they will bring in an independent to verify.
