anyone,

Hey, guy, stick around. We're not all pseudo-intellectuals or baiters over here. You might want to take a look at the Rambi thread too. A few Vietnam veterans and other military types hang out over there and sometimes here at this thread.

FWIW, I have never purchased a Jane Fonda exercise video--or Jane Fonda anything, for that matter.

Anyone, certainly it is not my desire to engage people in discussing topics that they do not want to talk about, and that is why I carefully said just that when I asked you about Vietnam. But you have somehow made several false assumptions about me, and I don't really think that is particularly fair. To respond, briefly:

I find nothing funny about the people who were killed/wounded in Viet Nam, and am certainly not "happy" about it. I participated in the anti-war movement so that the killing would stop.

I did not assume you would be embarrassed about a drinkers' thread, and was simply curious what it was about.

You almost immediately became condescending and quite insulting towards me, so it is probably better that you don't respond again. Some people who fought in Vietnam still believe in the war, and some do not, and I think it is an interesting subject to discuss. But obviously, not with you!

anyone:

I commend you for serving in Vietnam. All my best buddies did (they were Marines). It's just too bad the U.S. government didn't allow us to win the war. You are a real hero -- I know you'll never forget that.
