A company cannot have a "motive". A person can. Just because you use the word "business" in some of the same ways as the word "person" doesn't mean that they have identical characteristics. Companies do not think, feel, or have motives. You are oversimplifying. If the CEO of a company is concerned about the environment, then he is not driven entirely by a profit motive, and neither is the "company".
