Uh Oh! I can see it now. "Yes. On Friday we had 6.4 million ounces. But the earthquake apparently moved it all back toward the earth's core. The closest gold is now 97.3 miles underground."

A 6.8 is almost twice as big as a 5.9 earhquake. It's a big eathquake but Cangalli is at least 300 km from the epicentre, no damage would be done IMO. I lived in Mexico City when the 8.3 hit in 1985. That's a different story altogether.
