John, FWIW, "Andrew S. Grove, chief executive of computer chip maker Intel Corp., recently predicted that 'this country is going to be tied down in a sea of litigation' in the next decade for the Year 2000 problem. 'It's going to put the asbestos litigation to shame,' Grove said."

My apologies if this is old news. I just got around to reading my May 11 issue of "The Washington Post National Weekly Edition" and thought I'd pass along what Grove had to say. The above quote was from an article by Rajiv Chandrasekaran, page 7, titled "Lawyers and Insurers Brace for a Food of Y2K Lawsuits". The article was well written, and it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

As far as I know the Washington Post Weekly Edition is not on the Web. Why, I don't know. It's a class-act publication, IMO, and is my favorite weekly.

P.S. It's interesting to note that in terms of any pending lawsuits, "none of the plaintiffs has yet suffered actual Year 2000-related computing problems [emphasis mine]." What that may, or may not, mean in legal terms - I don't know. I'm no lawyer. But to me it's something to think about.
