ed. Re: "I bet there won't be any price war in the rest of 1998." You may be right and once the Street sees this it will be good news for CPQ. So I hope you are right. Since ibm, hp, cpq, and intel will all have BTO operations up and running by the end of 2Q, we may look back over the last six months and see that as a giant inventory correction, rather than the start of a destructive price spiral.

Re: Sub 1K computers: my recollection was that CPQ started this segment with the MediaGX Cyrix chip and caught hp and ibm flatfooted back in 1Q last year. Are you referring to something else?
