I'm not so sure that green and white papers are really the issue with regard to Marsfontein. It seems like Dr. Maduna may be of mind to deal with outstanding issues like Marsfontein (and other?) on a transitional basis. From the very abbreviated review of his speech, it would seem that his Department has an understanding of the long-term importance of foreign investment and job creation that must follow.

Are their other disputed mineral rights in RSA at present? Or is Marsfontein the straw that broke the camel's back?

Once again: Has De Beers paid even one cent to the "heirs"?
If not, why?
