Am I the only one who finds it extremely odd that we get our first "knowledge" of these rumors from some guy at that web site??!!

For a stock that has gone up exponentially for years, I find it hard to believe. I'm puzzled that he let his thoughts end there with respect to those rumors.

Jack, why would Dell have to restate earnings? They closed the quarter and reported their earnings based on what they sold. I doubt that Dell had "creative" accounting that would affect what they already reported. I could see them restating their future growth rate if things in the market place have really changed. I think its pretty poor to have stories published based on rumor.

Who is this Howard character and who are these 'People'???

Jack:

People are saying that things are really slowing down -- that orders are starting to ease.

I know you are just the messenger but this Howard character's conjecture based on some peoples' hearsay makes it all the more suspect. Needless to say it was in very poor taste for him to have put this crap in print. I have a feeling this guy wants to talk the stock down so that he can get in on a good thing on the cheap as he might have missed the boat already. Nothing like planting a little rumor in the mind of unsuspecting investors.

Man they come out of the woodworks don't they???????<gg>

No wonder Howard Schachter is saying what he is saying, here is a clue:
[Listen folks this guy is no damn investor,he is one of them freaking traders]

Know my man Howard.

Schachter protects himself by hedging with options, moving in and out of stocks when he has to, and diversifying with more than 100 issues at a time. He looks for growth, but not at the expense of value. He is, in other words, the consummate trader.

Jack,
Dell is advertising on TV the 400mmx desktop computer here in South Florida. I have seen the ad several times.

Spreading rumors about any fine company is a dangerous tactic...whatever your motive is, whoever you are!
