From techweb article...

Principally a supplier of 16-Mbit EDO DRAMs, Vanguard will begin shipping 100-MHz 64-Mbit SDRAM chips in the third quarter. By the first quarter of 1999, more than 50% of its DRAM output will consist of 64-Mbit chips that comply with Intel Corp.'s PC-100 100-MHz bus standard, according to Steve Pletcher, managing director of VIS Micro.

In the third quarter of 1999, Vanguard will sample 128-Mbit Direct RDRAM chips as part of a shift to a 0.19-micron process technology
.

Third quarter '99? A long ways off...Is this what the market is expecting.

I have stated before, this does not seem to be "new" news. Although another licensee is good news, this news is probably more "old" news, "Rambus is coming, Rambus is coming!!"

Please do not misunderstand my point, another licensee is good news, but 3rd qtr '99 is a long way off and I am not sure news like this will move RMBS anymore. Only demonstrated financial results or news of another "new" breakthrough chip interface design...JMHO....Still long and bought more on Friday.
