Emil:::: If you look at the root of the name Jesus it comes from the Hebrew Jehoshoua witch means Savior, the name Joshua comes from the same word, it is more of a Title then a name. To quote Jesus Himself "...for the Son Of Man has come to seek and save the lost" (Matt 19:10) I could give you more but I am sure you can find them yourself. He has come to save the lost from their sins an reconcile them to God. I hope you do not belive that only non Jews are going to be in heaven. Regrds Joshua-

Emile, In the Jewish New Testament the Name Yeshua is used. Also, the Greek is what you should use since the verses you quoted were a translation of the Greek. The Jewish New Testament is also a translation that I have choosen to use. We all know that you hate anything Jewish beyond a normal concern but to the point of a sick obsession so your point is a waste of time. Donald has had his share of persecution for his love for the Jewish people from you. You have the coldest and cruelest heart I have ever had contact with. I have used the name Jesus often but also use the name Yeshua for I believe that to be His real name and a recognisable name for its meaning to Jewish people. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9 that when he was with a Jew he acted like a Jew so that he might win some. So if Paul did this around you I can imagine the insults you would fly at him also. There are many Jewish people on SI and they can easily understand what we are saying. Do you know that a large number of my Jewish freinds did not even really believe Jesus was Jewish they thought He was a Roman or something. The Church has change the religion so much from the first Church that it is unrecognisable as having a Jewish root. If it were possible I think you would even question that He was born a Jew. This is more of your confusion for you call the early Church Jewish Christians but say we should not say we are Jewish anymore. How were they still considered Jewish by you when they were a part of the Church were they not? You are just full of prejudice and self righteousness. Nancy
