Well, yes, Terrence, I do see what you were saying. But I also do consider America for most of its history a savage, evil, unenlightened country. Regardless of whether certain groups figured out ways to live in relatively unencumbered ways, I still think that the law of the land needs to offer protections to all, and it still doesn't in the sense that homosexuals in most states do not even have the right to equal employment and housing opportunities. This is just plain wrong.
