Now, I'm really confused. On the Aol home page they are advertising Barnes & Noble, on another screen, they are advertising Amazon.com.
Which one is Aol in bed with??

This is interesting
<http://www.aol.com/, when I brought up this screen, Aol is advertising Amazon.com. I
thought they had a $40mil contract to advertise Barnes&Noble??
Are they playing both ends against each other??

Barnes & Noble have an exclusive on AOL itself for AOL subscribers. The web page for AOL is accessible to non AOL subcribers and is a different division within AOL. AMZN still has a contract on the AOL web site but I suspect Barnes & Noble will out bit them at expiration which I believe is the spring of the year 1999. Not sure of the date.

The real big loss to AMZN will be the Yahoo exclusive. AMZN will have to dig deep into their junk bond cash to win that renewal.
