Don't forget to account for the applications enterprises are running or rolling out. The move up in processor speed will be driven by the impact the applications have on the end user. If the applications begin slowing response time on the pc or lock ups occur, they want bigger faster fatter models to handle the myriad of software needed. Walk into any corporation and view how many applications are up and running simultaneously on a persons screen. Bandwidth is ever increasing so the delays are moving back to the pc's and servers. You can go so long until it becomes a detriment, plus the psych factor of the person next to you having better equipment or an application that can't be handled on the current system on the desk.
