Good Morning! Ref Korea and military coup. Having spent some time in Korea.... you have no idea how a military coup would tip the whole of South Korea into something like violent civil war. For the last decades Korea has been ruled by the military. They have just gotten out of a military dictatorship.

My impression is that 30 people in Korea, the chaebol owners and the military itself would be the only boosters of a Korea back in control by the military.

You wrote, which I agree with completely:

"As long as these countries(in Asia) were able to print their currency pegged to the dollar, they could do pretty much what they pleased. Essentially like the S&Ls in the US in the early-mid 80s, except more so, since the S&Ls were "hampered" by the limits of Fed insurance, regulators and a few more accounting principles. The Asian countries were only hampered by what the currency markets would go along with. It was as if Kimberly Clark could use their toilet paper as money".

Right on old boy!

My best,
