Kirk: re:<asking shareholders for permission to issue more stock to be used as options thus diluting the value of the shareholders' stock in exchange for loyal employees>

Yes, I DO believe you are one of the few people in this world who DO understand the stock option issue and the flow of related funds. It's a
pretty neat way for a company to fund their compensation costs - get the shareholders to pay the costs directly by granting employee stock options which employees exercise and resell the related purchased shares on the open market (realizing profits - their compenasation) as the company grows :-)))

Regarding EVA (economic value added), I know of now proposal to require such a disclosure. Thus far, it's an internal management tool.

Kirk: RE: < how to calculate EVA! >

The foremost authority on calculation and application of EVA (Economic Value Added) is a firm called Stern-Stewart & Company,
40 West 57th Street - 20th Flloor, New York, NY 10019. Their phone number is (212) 261-0600. Fax number is (212) 581-6420. You could ask of Joel M. Stern - Managing Pertner, or, G. Bennett Stewart - CoFounder.

Also, during 1990, an article about EVA appeared in the "Financial Executive" magazine by Joel M. Stern. It was entitled "One Way to Build Value in Your Firm, A La Executive Compensation",

Good luck in completing your calcuations.
