Peter... I absolutely agree with you about nuclear weapons. They serve absolutely no purpose, threaten the end of all life on this planet, are expensive, and are mind bogglingly dangerous. How do you make atomic weapons safe? Answer: you destroy them.

For America or anyone else to say they need "the final deterrant" is obnoxious, foolish and dangerous. In the military, our military, the greatest critics of atomic weapons during the 1990's was the last commandr of the Strategic Air Command, a man who had invested his life in keeping these hellacious things on line and in the air.

No one should have these things. Period. It is idiocy to have them.
Complete idiocy. If anything I hope the Indian tests will cause us all to revisit our own thoughts both privately and nationally about possessing these things.

Having said that I used to deliver newspapers to Edward Teller, the father of the H-bomb. An emigrant, Hungarian bum dressed is physicist's clothes. Employed by the people and state of California.

My best to you,

Thread:

I haven't heard anything about North Korea's food shortage lately. Does anyone know what's happening on that front?

Thanks in advance. Peter
