How is Eric's program any different than the program trading the institutional houses are using? Sounds pretty much the same, so I doubt there would be any hurdles to overcome.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Of course you'd like to beta test it, you hope to make a killing while doing so!!!! <vbg>

I'm pretty sure he has a sold out first run, if SI members are any indication.

To All:

I sincerely appreciate all of the words of encouragement and advice that the people from this thread have provided. I have literally received 100+ posts, private messages and/or e-mails from people interested in the project I have been working on, offering words of advice or offering to help with the development of the trading platform. I have been truly overwhelmed by the response and am very thankful for your support on this project.

When my partner and I began working on this project ~10 months ago, we were interested in developing a system to improve our trading abilities. Too often, we found that good trades were being missed because of the 5-10 second delay it took enter and send the order. In addition, quite often the stocks with the big intraday moves were being missed because I was not watching the "right" stock. How many different stocks can a trader monitor?

Trading for a living becomes very stressful, knowing that the accuracy of your split second judgements will determine whether you are able to earn a living. I wanted to develop a very structured system that could simultaneously monitor thousands of stocks for my precise entry/exit requirements. ==> No instantaneous judgement or "thinking" required to pull the trigger. The idea was to put all of the required "thinking" into the system while the market was closed without stress. During the market day, the trading platform merely executes the plan without question or delay. ==> A very pertinent quote is: "Plan your trading. Trade your plan."

Combining my experience with that of my partners in computer technology, programming, expert systems and trading, I thought that this type system was possible. Now I KNOW it is possible and it is virtually complete. The recent flood of interest from SI members, including information requests, offers to test the platform, offers to help with the programming as well as ideas for platform improvement and marketing have shown to me that many, many other people might be interested in using this type of platform to improve their trading results.

We are now exploring what would be required to develop a client system for this trading platform over the internet. In terms of technology, there are no obstacles to making this a reality. The primary obstacles appear to be time and capital. We expect 3-6 additional months of development time to complete an internet based application, but would need capital funding to support this additional development. ==> Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to raise capital for a project such as this? How do people typically find investors? Venture capital? Please e-mail me with any suggestions you may have.

I appreciate your continued thoughts, ideas and support with this project. Once implemented, I believe this trading platform with benefit individual traders and enable all of us to better compete with the marketmakers and institutional traders.

Thanks!
-Eric
