I agree MM serve a vital function as the "middle man" for stock transactions. They "live"off the spread, which is generally NOT outrageous. The problem investors have with MMs is when they influence the stock price artificially for their own gains!!! This is especially acute in OTCB stocks, which is partly responsible for the less-than -savory reputations of these stocks among main stream investors.
