You are clumsily avoiding the point:
You might have said -Maybe what we need is a new law against Monopolies temporarily giving away product with the intent to create yet another monopoly by driving competitors out of business, hence out of the market place.


My suggestion was a whimsical one, intended to stimulate thought. I don't seriously suggest such an assinine law. Why should it matter whether or not a person giving away software intends to (indirectly) profit by it? What kind of nonsense is that?

BTW, do you think it should be illegal for a business to "DUMP" water? Is there anything that is OK to give away, and why?
