I read the article. The facts took a backseat to his agenda of company bashing. There is no "reasoning" within the piece with which one can counter to create a "meaningful" dialogue. I think my assessment of the article was accurate, and I stand on it. HerbVic

Can anyone remember what Apple's retail sales rank was in Jan 98? I remember the article, but not the rank. (Just wondering how it compares to ranking fourth in April). rhet0ric

I find your letter a disgrace. Sure the guy makes some stupid points, but the way to address them is not to call his writing "cockeyed swaggering verbal swing". If anything, the lack of arguments in your message reinforce his convictions in his opinion. While I wouldn't state is quite so harshly, I do agree that HerbVic's letter did little to refute the article. A better way to respond is the way soup did (I think it was soup), by disputing the article on a point-by-point basis. You're right, name calling and angry taunts are not the way to explain your position, and ultimately do little but obscure the original issues.
