promotion and pricing for intraNetWare(TM) for SAA 3, today's most scalable,
secure and reliable platform for integrating IBM hosts with business networks,
intranets and the Internet. The product features complete TCP/IP
compatibility and Year 2000 readiness, enabling companies to adopt emerging
Internet technologies and provide continued access to host-based data beyond
the turn of the century. In addition, the product delivers the 32-bit
performance associated with NetWare, ensuring faster and more scalable access
to mainframe-based information. The promotion adds to Novell's product-driven

10 users to $31,995 for 1,000 users. Customers using DOS-based gateways can
register to receive intraNetWare for SAA 3.0 through any authorized Novell
reseller or international equivalent. Customers should contact the reseller

their original gateway, will be used to fulfill the upgrade.

Novell, Inc. (Nasdaq: NOVL) today announced availability of I2O solutions
for NetWare 4.11 and NetWare 5, easing server management and increasing
application processing efficiency. I2O is an industry-driven software
specification designed to provide a standards-based solution to offload
input/output traffic from the central processing unit and allow hardware
vendors to develop a single driver to work with all networking platforms.
Novell is providing I2O support for Ethernet- and SCSI-class devices and block
storage in NetWare 4.11 and 5, which represents the most complete operating
system implementation of I2O available to date.

Novell's early leadership in the I2O arena shows a clear commitment to
helping customers run their businesses more efficiently by providing
intelligent networking solutions that improve overall network performance. As
an active member the I2O SIG, Novell is working with several key hardware
partners, including Adaptec, Compaq, Distributed Processing Technologies
(DPT), Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Symbios Logic, to deliver I2O support on
NetWare today.

The free I2O driver kit for NetWare 4.11 is available immediately at
www.support.novell.com. Using the file finder function, customers should

included in NetWare 5 beta 3 for testing and will ship as part of NetWare 5
mid-year 1998. Customers interested in testing I2O functionality in NetWare 5
