Notting Hill, I will answer this but in the future please visit us on the manu thread. Also people sending me msgs please ask me on the manu thread - its only because I'm home not feeling well that I can answer all these inquiries.

I don't know Paragon, however, almost everyone even peripherally involved with mfg is calling themselves a supply chain solution these days, and those 2nd and 3rd tier players are going to have a tough time competing, I'd be careful there.

Regarding manu and I2, they are the only companies I would consider - I think the long term prospects for both is that they will be acquired (or in the case of I2 maybe they will acquire an ERP vendor since they are stonger than 2 of the ERPs). Theres only 3 possible acquirers, Baan,Orcl(not likely) or Psft. Theres just too many barriers to entry so you are never going to have multiple viable companies like you have in this CIS/SFA space.

I will definitely be buying manu as soon as this tech wreck subsides a little. I'm also waiting for sebl to decline a little more.

Just as a way-out prediction, long term I think the tools we use in scm will become std in everybodys mfg package. But the process - the actual transferance of apps data between vendors, should be owned by these new processware companies (Crossworld, etc). Unfortunately Crossworld thinks they are processware within the enterprise - too bad, thats the wrong approach. Us SCM people don't have time to write interfaces into every trading partners package, and theres no way to do it in house. Oh sorry for the rambling.
