Company Press Release

Unicomp Releases Windows NT Based Year 2000 Solution

MARIETTA, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 28, 1998--UNICOMP, INC. (NASDAQ: UCMP -
news) today announced a new addition to the Unibol product line providing users of System/36
applications on IBM System/36's, Advanced/36's and AS/400 Systems with a forward looking route to
the new millennium. The solution involves rehosting proven, mission-critical legacy applications to
Windows NT or Unix and modifying them to be Year 2000 compliant at the same time.

Unibol, recognized for helping IBM midrange users to extend the life of their valuable legacy code, can
now offer users of System/36 applications an enticing new route to make their applications Year 2000
compliant. Unibol has put their 18 years experience working with mission critical legacy applications to
work to ensure their Year 2000 solution requires minimal recoding and testing. The UNIBOL2000
solution is based on UNIBOL36 technology which replicates the SSP (Systems Software Program)
development and runtime environment on Windows NT and Unix. During the migration process
applications are automatically modified to become Year 2000 ready. UNIBOL2000 users benefit from
the performance gains and numerous extensions to the System/36 environment available with
UNIBOL36, the facilities of the Windows NT or Unix operating system and keep their well understood
applications - now Year 2000 ready.

These features allow applications to be converted to be Year 2000 ready with zero changes to data file
layouts plus minimal changes to source members. Couple this with powerful Year 2000 analysis and
rebuild tools that run as part of the migration process and you solve both your hardware and software
problems while retaining your investment in legacy code. The analysis tools utilize Unibol's compiler
technology plus data sampling and sniffing techniques to achieve unparalleled levels of automation and
accuracy. Moreover the intuitive point and click interface means no programming experience is
required to operate the tools. Not only do you end up with a Year 2000 ready application, but you also
get a complete grasp of the structure of your application - file layouts, program field cross reference,
files used per program - vital information for ongoing maintenance and development activities.

According to Stephen A. Hafer, President and CEO of UniComp, ''Replacing existing hardware and
legacy software, much of which has been customized over the years to fit the business requirements, is
a high risk proposition and one which can be difficult to cost justify. UNIBOL2000 represents a low
risk, low cost strategy which should cause minimum disruption to business operations and staffing,
while allowing the retention of investment in legacy code.''
