''The exchange rate is very much under pressure, and this is hitting the bolsa,'' one dealer said. Panic selling in South Korea spread to Hong Kong and then Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan, traders said, sparking a knock-on effect in Latin America as investors fought shy of emerging markets. Traders in Seoul said the Korean market's slide was triggered by a slip in the Japanese yen which signals bad times for Korean exporters, and by local disappointment at poor foreign buying interest when stock ownership limits were lifted on Monday.<<
