>>Since this is an econimc forum, lets cool it. We wont resolve this issue.<< Thanks. It's a huge issue. Maybe there is another message board devoted to it?

Anyway, here's some news of economic interest. I have to plead ignorance here, because I don't know the connection between "Asia" and Latin America. Could someone enlighten me.
Thanks, MikeM(From Florida)

>>Mexico shares dive 1.56 percent on Asia contagion
MEXICO CITY, May 26 (Reuters) - Mexican shares took a dive on Tuesday in line with other emerging stock markets, shedding 1.56 percent during the morning session. ''The exchange rate is very much under pressure, and this is hitting the bolsa,'' one dealer said.

Panic selling in South Korea spread to Hong Kong and then Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan, traders said, sparking a knock-on effect in Latin America as investors fought shy of emerging markets.

Traders in Seoul said the Korean market's slide was triggered by a slip in the Japanese yen which signals bad times for Korean exporters, and by local disappointment at poor foreign buying interest when stock ownership limits were lifted on Monday.<<
