Scott,

In this tough market, at last INTC is holding. If someone could forward me joint daily closing stock prices from RMBS, Nasdaq and INTC - like an Excel file, for instance - I would be happy to make a simple linear regression model and post results here.

Regards,

MiB

It's the basket effect that is beating down RMBS.

It is in the PC basket - Inventory glut & market saturation
It is in the microchip basket - Asian economy & inventory glut

The PC inventory glut is going to delay profits from the next generation of FAST PCs. RMBS had next year's potential profits already priced into the stock.

However the current price should be a buy recommendation, and as soon as the analysts finish flicking their abacus, an announcement in recognition of that perception should be forthcoming.

In this market, it's a bargain only as soon as it starts to go up. As before, the ramp up should be much steeper than the ramp down. It may not be as high this time though.

I'd be surprised if this bear market holds for another two days. At the close today, I had three stocks in my sights and missed all three from trying to squeeze an extra few cents with the plunging DOW. The money will come back to the techs this week, and the broader market will follow suit. But don't expect it to last more than a few weeks.

Agreement in INTC, if not for their support RMBS would be nowhere. I am looking for news to the tune of your comments on technical implementation improvements, cost differential of RDRAM -vs- SDRAM being lowered, and "new" chip to chip interface design, all other news is SOSO....Rambus is Coming, Rambus is Coming!!!
