Ted- Correct me if I'm wrong. I Don't know enough about this whole internet search mania thing. I feel people are comparing apples to oranges.

search engine companies developed the product many of us use to search the web. They make their money selling advo space (banners) on the GUI that the person searching uses. Netscape on the other hand has netcenter. What is netcenter? netcenter is netscapes internet site where A) they sell all their software products and B) They lease to internet search companies a place they can do business. they used to pay netscape for the privilege to be there. Now Netscape inks a deal with Excite to be their #1 search engine company $75 mil. Plus a small equity in Excite. don't know what happens to the other search engine companies. They decide to go do business elsewhere and not pay Netscape for the privilege to remain there. Am I right so far stop me any time. But to me Netscape is not a search engine company. they own Netcenter and sell their software to many businesses and generate revenues from the internet search companies by providing a place for them to do business. To me unless they buy Excite or some other search engine company that they own outright they can't be cast as an internet stock like Yahoo, Excite, Infoseek and so on. Tell me what I'm missing here. how do people compare Nscp to the other internet stocks at this point. not that it matters as those other stocks are a disaster waiting to happen IMO, and I believe Nscp should have a higher market cap than all of them. any insight would be appreciated.
