On what do you base your P/E of 24 ?

scott h., why should DELL trade only at a p/e of 24? Does p/e really matter? What about cash-flow? What about ROIC? The real value of my long position in DELL is not fantasy. My booked gains on options trades are not fantasy.

re: 1999 eps $2.40 X imputed value PE of 24 = $57.60.
That is shear lunacy. If Dell ever dropped to that point I'd not only sell my house to buy Dell, I'd sell my neighbor's too. I'd go with atleast a P/E of 40 which would make it $96. A multiple of 40 for a hightech stock is actually small I think.
