You are a total apologist, and short of Bill Gates himself saying "We violated the law" you will never believe it. I don't think you are open to the possibility.

I am open to the possibity. I am simply taking the opposite viewpoint to show you there is one. It's easy to hate MS and take everything they say as a threat, looking for hidden (and no so hidden) meanings and evil conspiracies around every corner.

<iIf you are, does it not strike you that "make it more difficult" is quite different from "addressed in IE 4.0 to make it more competitive"?

It is different. Maybe you are right. I am simply going by, for instance, a car salesman say "What could I say that would make it hard for you to leave without that car"? Someone actually said that to me. I didn't assume he meant "Buy that car or I'll chain you to the desk". But honestly I guess that's what the MS guy was saying.

Now they are making hte OS force you to use internet explorer in windows 98.

No they aren't. Do you have Windows98? If not, come over to my house and I'll show you Navigator running on my Windows98 machine. I can avoid using IE4 if I really want to (which I don't).
